The village Barigau is part of the municipality Oberhain. To the settlement Oberhain also includes the hamlets Unterhain and Mankenbach. The village Barigau is located right on the summit of Barigauer height. The Barigauer height is embedded in the Thuringian Slate Mountains. The Barigauer Height forms with 666 m above sea level, the landscape-shaping element of the area. The Barigauer lookout tower offers beautiful views in the Rinne Valley, the romantic valley of the Schwarza river and in the Rennsteig area. |
| Barigau lends itself as a starting point for varied walks. Extensive forest areas and open fields characterize the region. On an extended network of trails you can reach a number of beautiful panoramic views or the surrounding holiday destinations Sitzendorf, Mellenbach, Unterweißbach and Dröbischau. |
